Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. As part of the Senior Management Group for South Africa, the candidate will be responsible for the finance function of the Alfred H Knight South Africa group. The candidate will ensure the accurate and timely submission of management accounts to group standards, and that anything reported is consistent and adheres to local GAAP, group policies and procedures. The candidate is expected to have strong technical skills and gain a thorough understanding of the business to enable the reporting of insightful financial information, involving operations, commercials and legal in a business partnering role.

The role involves involvement in all aspects of the business and requires strong financial leadership, with a focus on accurate reporting, adherence to group standards and local GAAP, and collaboration with operations, commercial teams and senior management to improve financial performance.

Essential

• Ability to work under pressure, ensuring compliance with deadlines, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with department staff and non-finance staff.
• Strong technical and analytical accounting skills.
• Extensive knowledge of Black Economic Empowerment.
• Consolidation experience.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate financial data in a relevant and concise way both orally and in the development of written documents, reports and financial information.
• Strong excel skills.
• Experience of Infor Sun Systems (Desirable).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, manage and prioritise workload to ensure all key deadlines are met.

• Ability to manage and develop direct report staff remotely.

• Experience in managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

• Qualified CPA (or equivalent including CIMA/ ACCA) accountant.

• Must be prepared to travel to all sites in Southern Africa and the UK when required.
