Job description
Warehouse Supervisor job vacancy in Stellenbosch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production Reconciliation
    • Complete the daily handshake procedure with the Production Controller to confirm manufactured totals, in conjunction with the Warehouse Stock Controller.
    • Plan sufficient warehouse space for manufactured stock together with the Warehouse Stock Controller.
  • Assist with Warehouse Duties
    • Maintain safety standards and ensure the safety of products during internal transport using forklifts and Bendi equipment.
    • Sort, organise, and store inventory in the correct locations.
    • Update Forklift and Cleaning Registers.
    • Maintain Forklift and Bendi licence registers and ensure all training is scheduled and completed timeously.
    • Assist auditors during year-end stocktakes and Food Safety Audits.
  • Stock Control
    • Prepare DA32 documentation for each loaded truck.
    • Ensure accurate picking of goods according to load instructions.
    • Report any concerns or problems to the Warehouse Manager.
    • Check container loading to ensure compliance with required standards and procedures.
    • Assist with weekly and monthly stock takes through physical stock counts.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock information on the system.
    • Ensure accurate and timely flow of documentation and information.
  • Safety and Housekeeping
    • Comply with company and statutory Health & Safety policies and procedures.
    • Ensure sweeping and cleaning of the warehouse, under-canopy area, container loading bay (inside and outside), and warehouse holding areas.
    • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards, including the use of cages and forklifts for cleaning cobwebs where required.
    • Assist with audits and close out non-conformances.
    • Manage transporters of finished goods on the site to ensure compliance with HSHG policies.
    • Address all warehouse and distribution-related complaints timeously and close CAR documentation with corrective actions.
    • Assist in maintaining the Hygiene Management Procedure through regular Gemba walks.
    • Complete Gemba Walk documentation.
    • Participate in Health & Safety meetings.
    • Assist with incident and reconciliation investigations.
    • Ensure the work environment remains neat, tidy, and safe at all times.
  • Administration Processes
    • Monitor and report on truck schedules (daily, weekly, and monthly).
    • Issue documentation for the removal of excisable finished goods (Customs Authorisation Letters).
    • Monitor and sign off invoices related to finished goods transport and services.
    • Provide stock status information to internal and external stakeholders when required.
    • Create Purchase Orders, follow through with goods receipt, and email the completed documentation to Finance.
  • People Management
    • Maintain accurate time and attendance records.
    • Be flexible in supervising both dry goods and finished goods employees.
    • Assist with attendance and clocking records and submit accurate timesheets to HR by the required deadline.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Diploma in Warehouse and Distribution Management (advantageous)
