Overview
Responsible for planning and coordinating vehicle logistics operations, engineering logistics processes and ensuring fewer company resources are utilised while increasing profitability by using innovative methods to increase efficiency in areas such as transportation costs and time.
Responsibilities
- Vehicle Logistics Supply Chain Engineering – managing the transportation of vehicles to different dealers (export & import)
- Project Management
- Track and ensure that the applicable Key Performance Indicator targets are achieved
- Manage implementation of client’s tender outcomes in client’s logistics environment as well as the RFI/RFQ processes.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews of client’s appointed suppliers and service providers and ensuring the KPIs are achieved
- Provide support on client’s logistics budgeting process
- Calculate and supply accurate costings for all elements of the supply chain for normal and ad-hoc requests
- Seek innovative cost saving solutions to meet annual cost reduction targets and recommend to client
- Support client’s regional logistics projects (i.e. New Vehicle Introduction)
- Provide support on operational supply chain activities
- Identify, implement, and manage new projects, subject to the prior written approval of clients
- Design and implement, subject to client’s prior written approval, new supply chain processes
- Re-engineer clients supply chain flows to improve time, cost, and quality
- Ensure that all office equipment is properly maintained, and office area is clean and presentable
- Ensure department adheres to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
Qualifications
- Education/Requirements:
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) with English fluency (Written and spoken)
- Degree/Higher Diploma in Systems/Industrial Engineering/Similar
- 3 years industry or working experience.
- Understanding of the Vehicle supply chain environment advantageous
- Microsoft Project knowledge and experience
- MS Office spreadsheets and graphics – strong excel skills.
