Overview

As a Utilities Team Leader, you’ll play a vital role in council billing, reporting, verification, and risk management across various utilities including Water, Electricity, Sewer, Effluent, Refuse, Alternative Energy, Back-up Electricity, and Gas. You will ensure accurate utility accounting, optimize costs, and manage strong relationships between landlords, tenants, and service providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee utility management: account openings, council queries, reporting, consumption monitoring, and recovery.
  • Drive cost savings through leak management and optimization of water and electricity use.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial reports, accruals, and municipal bill vetting.
  • Conduct tariff audits, energy assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Implement and monitor risk management and compliance with relevant acts and bylaws.
  • Provide leadership and support to the team to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in a utilities environment.
  • Strong background in the property industry (essential).
  • Proven experience in creditors / account reconciliations and payments.
  • Valid driver's licence.
