Our client is South Africa’s leading multi-media trade and technical magazine publishers and exhibition organisers focused on the Mining, Plumbing, HEVCAR and Construction industries and they are looking for a Trade Exhibition Organiser to join their team as soon as possible.

Job Description

Our client and its subsidiaries organise between 30 – 35 exhibitions per annum in the mining and plumbing industries. These are trade exhibitions, they own their own equipment and travel around South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa hosting exhibitions. A lot of travel is required. They are responsible for organising the exhibitors, visitors, venue, catering, logistics, equipment, JOC, registration, signage, municipal requirements, marketing, generators / electricity, toilets, forklifts, food, invitations, accommodation, cross border permits, engineers, invoices and payments to mention a few.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Building and maintaining key operation and supplier relationships.
  • Proactively organising the full operational requirements of multiple exhibitions at the same time meeting all required deadlines. This includes but is not limited to – venue, catering, logistics, equipment, JOC, registration, signage, municipal requirements, marketing, generators / electricity, toilets, forklifts, food, invitations, accommodation, cross border permits, engineers, invoices and payments.
  • Proactively and independently finding solutions when challenges occur.
  • Collation of critical event information and dissemination of such information to related parties.
Educational Requirements
  • Matric
  • Diploma in event planning / management
Experience and Skills Required
  • Min 3 – 5 years in organising trade events (not attending and setting up marketing events for a company)
