Job Description

The role supports the organisation’s sustainability strategy through research, benchmarking, and assessments to identify risks, opportunities, and organisational impact. Responsible for fundraising, income generation, and volunteer management through national projects and special events. May require weekend work to support events and fundraising activities.

Responsibilities
  • Income Development & Fundraising
    • Identify and develop income-generating opportunities using community structures
    • Formulate and implement action plans for community-based and national fundraising initiatives
    • Influence and facilitate community fundraising activities in line with national programmes
    • Ensure all assigned events meet required benchmark and quality standards
    • Analyse the effectiveness of fundraising events and initiatives to optimise income and cost efficiency
    • Build, maintain, and expand donor and sponsor relationships
    • Leverage technology and social media to enhance fundraising outcomes
  • Volunteer Management
    • Compile and maintain community profiles
    • Implement the Community Development Model to ensure inclusive volunteer participation
    • Recruit, train, coordinate, motivate, and support volunteers across assigned activities
    • Establish and guide community volunteer committees, including leadership volunteers, to achieve cancer control, income development, and advocacy objectives
  • Programme & Performance Delivery
    • Meet or exceed assigned fundraising targets
    • Develop and sustain fundraising programmes
    • Recruit sponsors, volunteers, and community support through promotional and engagement activities
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Minimum of one year’s fundraising experience
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence and own transport
  • Willingness to work over weekends
  • Non-smoker
