Overview

A well-established and highly respected industrial services company is looking for a skilled Shift Supervisor to join their Springs-based plant. Role: Shift Supervisor

Location: Springs

Contract: The position is contract-based with a monthly CTC of R17 200.

Responsibilities
  • The Team Supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing a team within the plant ensuring productivity, quality output, safety, compliance and adherence to company policies. This role involves supervising daily operations, managing staff performance, allocating resources effectively and fostering a positive and engaged work environment to meet organizational objectives.
  • Supervise, guide and support team members ensuring tasks are assigned effectively and operational goals are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance; conduct appraisals and address performance issues.
  • Provide on-the-job training, mentorship and support to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Build a positive team culture, maintain high morale and encourage collaboration and productivity.
  • Manage and allocate resources including staff time and equipment to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Identify, address and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Enforce adherence to company policies, safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of team performance, incidents and operational progress for management review.
Requirements
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in team supervision, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience in metal finishing or galvanising operations will be advantageous.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Adaptability to manage change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in monitoring, evaluating and improving employee performance.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of company policies, safety protocols and relevant industry regulations.
