Role: Shift Supervisor
Location: Springs
Contract: The position is contract-based with a monthly CTC of R17 200.
Responsibilities
- The Team Supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing a team within the plant ensuring productivity, quality output, safety, compliance and adherence to company policies. This role involves supervising daily operations, managing staff performance, allocating resources effectively and fostering a positive and engaged work environment to meet organizational objectives.
- Supervise, guide and support team members ensuring tasks are assigned effectively and operational goals are met.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance; conduct appraisals and address performance issues.
- Provide on-the-job training, mentorship and support to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Build a positive team culture, maintain high morale and encourage collaboration and productivity.
- Manage and allocate resources including staff time and equipment to optimize operational efficiency.
- Identify, address and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Enforce adherence to company policies, safety standards and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of team performance, incidents and operational progress for management review.
Requirements
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum 3 years experience in team supervision, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience in metal finishing or galvanising operations will be advantageous.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Adaptability to manage change in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in monitoring, evaluating and improving employee performance.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of company policies, safety protocols and relevant industry regulations.
