Job responsibilities
  • Maintaining accounting records of a number of entities within the Valterra Platinum Group, with a strong focus on month end close, including journals, payments processing, generating invoices, processing bank transactions, general ledger reconciliations and reporting financial information to internal management and key stakeholders.
  • Preparing calculations and schedules in support of VAT return and income tax submissions for these entities.
  • Compilation of annual financial statements for these entities
  • Engagement with external auditors and required internal stakeholders.
  • Managing, coordinating, compiling and submitting all Stats SA and SARB reporting for the Valterra Platinum Group
  • Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements
Qualifications

Tertiary qualification: B-Degree in Accounting and/or Finance will be advantageous

Experience
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Finance environment of which 2 years preferably in a mining environment
Technical Skills
  • Financial accounting and reporting
  • Competent in mine related finance systems and related legislation
  • Identify new methods to ensure productive and safe work and achieve plans.
  • Monitor benchmarks and identify performance gaps.
  • Ability to manage work packages across a portfolio of project activities.
  • Proficient in leading and managing through crisis, transformation, and change.
  • Data analysis and management for decision-making.
  • Proficient in establishing and implementing a culture within the discipline where safety and health
