The role encompasses financial management, operational oversight, and compliance reporting. Hire Resolve’s client, a trusted leader in the building insurance claims fulfilment industry, is seeking a skilled and driven Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. Renowned for delivering high-quality projects and exceptional customer service, the company is expanding rapidly and looking for a financial professional who can bring expertise, initiative, and operational insight to support the growth of two subsidiary companies.
Responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Administer payroll for ~45 employees using Pastel Payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Banking & Reconciliations: Process payments to suppliers and perform regular bank reconciliations.
General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for accurate financial records.
Process Optimisation: Enhance financial and operational processes to improve efficiency and compliance.
Financial Analysis: Identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and performance improvement areas.
Management Accounts: Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts with actionable insights.
Head Office Support: Provide analysis, reporting, and accounting support to the holding company.
Inventory Management: Oversee stock control across 5 sites and 22 vehicles, including stock counts and system updates.
Asset Management: Maintain and value company assets, ensure depreciation and compliance with standards.
Operational Coordination: Support operations with inventory, expenses, mobile and time-tracking systems.
Tax & Regulatory: Submit VAT201, PAYE, EMP501, income tax and provisional tax returns in compliance with SARS. Handle OID and CIPC submissions.
Audit Readiness: Prepare audit documentation and liaise with external auditors.
Contract Management: Review and manage contracts with suppliers, landlords, and clients, ensuring value and compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Sciences, Finance, or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience.
Proficient in:
Sage Pastel Payroll & Sage Pastel Partner
Experience with Zoho Accounting, Zoho Inventory, and ServiceM8 is advantageous.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Self-starter with initiative and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Team player with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
