Cardiology Consultant Lead – Hybrid (Remote and North East London)
Responsible to: Medical Director (Clinical) and Service Manager (Operations)
Omnes Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Cardiology Consultant Lead to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to combine clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, contributing to the development and delivery of a high‑quality, patient‑focused cardiology diagnostics service in a community setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and supervise cardiac physiologists and the wider cardiology team.
- Support clinician decision‑making and provide second opinions within the service.
- Conduct audits of clinical standards, contributing to continuous improvement in patient care and safety.
- Develop, review and approve clinical protocols and care pathways.
- Support post‑graduate education and training within the service.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, referring clinicians and external stakeholders.
- Maintain effective and responsive communication with other members of the Omnes team.
- Oversee quality assurance, ensuring compliance with company policies, national guidelines and safety standards.
- Assist in strategic planning, service development and implementing innovative ways of working to improve efficiency, clinical pathways and reduce costs.
- Identify and support ways that the service could be delivered more effectively via digital methods and innovative technologies.
- Take part in clinical appraisals.
- Organise and attend monthly meetings remotely and/or face‑to‑face when required.
- Provide support in attending meetings with relevant stakeholders, as required.
Essential Requirements
- Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practice.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Cardiology.
- MRCP or equivalent and membership of a Royal College of Physicians in the UK (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in Cardiology.
- Experience in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence‑based practice.
