Job description

Our client is looking for a teacher with a fresh perspective and the ability to learn and enjoy a challenge of a school that offers remedial and vocational/technical education.

  • This is a small private high school (Gr 7 - 12) in Kyalami
  • The candidate would need to be willing to teach a handful of learners in a practical environment

The teacher would need to be able to teach cooking, baking and the practical side of consumer studies

Requirements and skills
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education and/or a Bachelors Degree in Education
  • Experience with neuro diverse learners is a plus. He/she should be knowledgeable in the different learning styles of special needs students and teaching methodologies.
  • Is proficient in administration such as lesson planning.
  • Can work closely with a curriculum structure without official textbooks but can develop creative, meaningful, practical teaching material.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to focus on practical side of hospitality and consume studies such as cooking and baking etc
  • Dynamic and adaptable
  • Have the appetite to work in a non-traditional school environment with remedial/ non-academic learners

  • Great communication skills with parents required
  • Grade 4 to Grade 9 academic level to be taught
  • The teacher needs to be comfortable teaching 14 – 19-year-olds who function at the cognitive and emotional level of a senior primary student.
