Overview

Introduction

Position : Registered Nurse - Theatre Trained

Location : East Rand

Facility : Private Hospital

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Nurse Post Basic Operating Theatre to join a leading private healthcare organization. In this role you will provide and promote safe, cost-effective and high-quality patient care in line with professional nursing standards and hospital policies. You will take responsibility for the direct and indirect care of patients including assessment, planning, execution and supervision of care while serving as a role model in evidence-based practice. The position also requires active participation in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and uphold modern nursing principles in a specialised setting.
  • Ensure compliance with SANC and relevant healthcare legislation.
  • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing teams.
  • Assess, plan and coordinate care for patients within the operating theatre environment.
  • Deliver patient-centred care aligned with professional and ethical standards.
Qualification & Requirements
  • Nursing qualification: Diploma in General Nursing / BCur Degree (or equivalent NQF 7 qualification).
  • Post Basic qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science.
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
  • Proven experience in a theatre environment.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing theory, specialised clinical practice and healthcare legislation.
