Provincial Manager: Eastern Cape

Oxford University Press is looking for a Provincial Manager to plan, implement and monitor sales activities in the respective Province to increase sales and market share. To build, lead and champion an effective and efficient sales team to overachieve on all agreed budgets within the ethos prescribed by OUP\'s brand promise.

The Provincial Manager will report to the National Education Manager. This post is based in East London.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Grow sales and market share through targeted sales activities.
  • Expand adoptions of front list and backlist titles.
  • Develop and implement a Teacher Workshop Plan for the province.
  • Collaborate and build productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.
  • Effective data management.
  • Manage budgets effectively by forecasting annual capital and operational expenses and developing cost control mechanisms.
  • Recruit, train, motivate and manage team performance; provide guidance and support; and conduct regular performance reviews.
Qualifications and Experience
  • National Diploma in Sales, Marketing or Education.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in sales management.
  • At least 3 years experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong business and commercial insight.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain high-level business relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across various functional areas to achieve results.
  • Leadership and staff management experience.
  • Experience in the publishing industry including both print and digital formats.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Business development expertise.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and CRM systems.
