Job description

The Product Manager is responsible for both product planning and execution.

This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision.

It includes working with technical, sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and internalize / define the product vision, strategy and roadmap.
  • Gather, manage, and prioritize market / customer requirements and the matching product unique selling points (USPs).
  • Act as the customer advocate, articulating the user's and/or buyer's needs.
  • Work closely with technical, sales, marketing, and support to ensure business case and customer satisfaction goals are met.
  • Have technical product knowledge or specific domain expertise.
  • Be a market expert, including understanding the reasons customers purchase products.
  • Have a deep understanding of the competition and how customers think of and buy your product.
  • Use market research and competitive analysis skills to complete tasks.
  • Define what to solve in the market needs document, articulating the valuable market problem and justifying each part of the solution.
  • Run beta and pilot programs as well as regular reviews and checks with customers to ensure the product meets customer expectations.
  • Act as the product's leader within the company.
  • Develop the business case for new products, improvements to existing products, and business ventures.
  • Plan and supervise new product implementations / rollouts.
  • Define and prioritize customer segments / markets for the product.
  • Have ultimate responsibility for product pricing and pricing policies.
  • Define marketing strategy and plan for the product.
  • Provide and continuously update product sales forecasts.
  • Have ultimate responsibility for supplier relationship.
  • Oversee supplier contracts and/or target negotiations.
  • Ensure supplier reports and requests are attended to professionally and timely.
  • Present quarterly business reviews (QBR) to management and/or suppliers.
  • Supervise, review, and approve purchase orders (POs).
  • Supervise and provide relevant internal training.
  • Supervise and/or provide customer training.
Qualifications
  • Must be proficient with English and Afrikaans.
  • Completed Matric.
  • Completed a course in Project Management – highly beneficial.
  • Own reliable transport with a valid driver's license.
  • South African with a valid South African ID.
  • 4+ years technical experience along with experience in Customer Service / Care.
  • Must be able to manage time, projects and information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication required.
  • Natural problem‑solving abilities.
  • Must be able to sustain pressure and be self‑motivated.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Travel may be required for this position.
Package & Remuneration

The pay range on offer is R_____ to R_____ per month.
