Procurement Supervisor

Location : Witbank, Mpumalanga (75% of the time will need to be spent in Witbank, so candidates based in Witbank or the surrounding areas would be preferred)

About the Role

Our client is a leading South African company in the water treatment sector, specialising in modular wastewater treatment systems for domestic, commercial, industrial, and remote applications. They’re known for their commitment to sustainability and engineering excellence.

We’re looking for a Procurement Supervisor to take ownership of the procurement function and support the supply chain, operations, and project delivery teams. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services critical to the design, manufacturing, and installation of water treatment systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Source and procure equipment, parts, and materials (e.g., pumps, valves, filters, tanks, instrumentation)
  • Obtain and compare supplier quotations; negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms
  • Build and maintain preferred supplier relationships and vendor lists
  • Manage purchase orders and follow up on deliveries
  • Monitor stock levels and forecast in line with project needs
  • Liaise with project, production, engineering, finance, and logistics teams
  • Assist with import / export and customs documentation where needed
  • Maintain procurement records and supplier performance metrics
  • Identify cost reduction and sourcing strategy opportunities

What You’ll Need

  • National Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
  • 3–7 years of experience in a procurement role (preferably in water / environmental / engineering sectors)
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial components and systems
  • Proven experience negotiating and managing supplier contracts
  • Proficiency in ERP / procurement software (SAP, SYSPRO, Pastel, or similar)
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport
  • Knowledge of BBBEE and local supplier development is a plus

  • You will be required to spend approximately 75% of your time in Witbank
  • Regular travel to the client’s Pretoria-based offices will also be required
