Join Riverview Charter School’s cafeteria team as a part-time kitchen staff member, helping to ensure students receive safe, healthy, and efficiently served meals. Responsibilities include assisting with food prep, dishwashing, meal service, and cashiering duties, all while upholding food safety and cleanliness standards. Staff in this role contribute to a welcoming and professional school environment that reflects Riverview’s mission and values.
Cashier/Assistant
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process student and staff meal purchases accurately.
- Handle cash, checks, and digital payments in compliance with school policies.
- Assist in serving meals to students and staff during lunch periods.
- Maintain an organized and clean cashier station and surrounding serving area.
- Support kitchen staff with basic meal prep and dish handling when needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor students’ meal accounts and follow procedures for balances or meal eligibility.
- Model Riverview’s mission and values through courteous, professional, and respectful interactions with students, staff, and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager or School Leadership, including support for special events.
Dishwasher/Assistant
- Wash, rinse, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, cookware, and other kitchen equipment according to health and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area and kitchen workspaces.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food prep tasks as assigned (e.g., portioning, peeling, chopping, or packing).
- Support meal service by restocking items and assisting in serving when necessary.
- Sweep, mop, and empty trash in kitchen and service areas.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper use of gloves, hair restraints, and handwashing.
- Report maintenance or equipment issues to the Cafeteria Manager.
- Model Riverview’s mission and values through positive interactions with students, staff, and fellow team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager or School Leadership, including support for special events.
