Overview
Our client has a position for a Millwright at their plant in Cato Ridge.
Responsibilities
- Lead the site Maintenance function in providing a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
- Responsible for planned scheduling and timely completion of work carried out.
- Increase plant operational effectiveness, reduction of mean time between failures and downtime.
- Manage and implement improvement plans, ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures while mentoring and leading the department.
- Must be able to respond to calls 24/7 for relevant matters that impact production.
- General and Task Management: Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site; schedule internal and external work to maximise plant utilization and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Manage the team to ensure machine availability, and reactively manage dysfunctional machinery with Shift Supervisors.
- Ensure routine maintenance requirements of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation/programming systems are undertaken.
- Attend various meetings and communicate instructions; produce written reports.
- Perform root cause analysis and propose/resolve problems; identify improvement opportunities.
- Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
- Lead, coach and develop Maintenance team to meet objectives, deliver best practice results, added value and continuous improvement.
- Promote high standards through personal example and ensure team understands expected standards and behaviours.
- Provide technical expertise to the team and liaise to ensure an effective interface with the operating team.
Qualifications
- Millwright red seal.
- Plant level experience with proven maintenance management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
