Act as a member of the MEA Medical Affairs team. The Medical Lead will work with the Medical Affairs team to ensure that Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, successfully supports and leads the market with respect to medical/scientific engagement interactions, and that the company is successful in positioning its portfolio of products versus competitors. The role demands competency in practical aspects of patient care and the ability to use medical and scientific information to facilitate engagement of physicians and others in the clinical and basic science issues relevant to the products. The Medical Lead will be responsible for driving projects from concept to execution, and must be an innovative self‑starter who takes ownership of tasks and can work independently with direction from the direct manager. The Medical Lead is responsible for developing and executing a clear and comprehensive Medical Affairs strategy for the country/cluster, aligned with international, APAC‑MEA regional and country‑level strategic plans. The role includes planning medical budgets and executing the medical plan in line with budgets (tracking and monitoring the budgets), working close with the line manager and finance teams.
The Medical Lead should demonstrate product value through internal and external stakeholder engagement and training based on clinical and scientific data. The role is responsible for managing collaborative relationships with national and regional opinion leaders to ensure alignment of professional opinion, particularly in areas of emerging science and forthcoming product developments. The Medical Lead is responsible for providing clinical and scientific based trainings to local commercial teams (based on therapeutic area and product related) as well as training to regional Medical Affairs teams.
The Medical Lead will provide support to the local Brand‑team and country manager to provide clinical insight, technical expertise and scientific insight to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Medical Lead also serves on the country leadership team.
The Medical Lead is expected to embrace a strong compliance mindset; structure and ways of working, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity to benefit patients, consumers, customers and employees. The Medical Lead will provide oversight and local management of relationships with investigators undertaking studies under the remit of Global Aesthetics Medical Affairs (GAMA).
The Medical Lead should continue to drive an aspiration growth mindset and work closely with all cross‑functional teams (including the local AMI™, Brand‑team, Finance‑team and local leadership team).
The Medical Lead is responsible for cross‑functional collaboration with the Regulatory; Quality Assurance; Medical Information; Pharmacovigilance and Healthcare Compliance Departments to ensure business continuity and optimal patient outcomes.
The Medical Lead is responsible for supporting clinical development and launch pad teams and to ensure participation of EEMEA investigators into AA clinical development program. In addition, support any local RWE Generation initiatives (IIS's; case studies; case series) initiated by local aesthetic opinion leaders.
