Job Purpose

The role of a Lecturer is the delivery of training and education of students; student consultations; the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development; whilst providing overall support to the Academic department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Presenting content in a classroom environment (online or physical, as required)
  • Arranging for consultations with students.
  • Results analysis at a modular level.
  • Marking assessments and providing constructive feedback.
  • Employing interventions for at‑risk students.
Minimum Requirements
  • Honours degree, bachelor’s degree in Tourism.
  • 1 to 3 years of industry‑specific experience in area of specialisation.
  • 1 to 3 years lecturing experience.
  • Solid understanding of the South African Further Education and Higher Education environment and regulatory framework.
  • Teaching‑Learning theory.
  • Holistic lecturer and student support services.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.
    Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.
  • The ability to provide student support services.

Working Hours (Full Time)

Classes are scheduled from 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday. Your working hours will depend on the modules allocated to you.

Salary

Market related.
