LAWYER-(LEGAL SERVICES MANAGER)-MINING INDUSTRY
Based Gauteng • R 1.7 million CTC per annum
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized legal advice to the Group of companies in respect of strategic objectives focusing on commercial and mining law
- Draft and review contracts
- Manage litigation, represent the company in external legal matters
- Ensure regulatory adherence
- Advise on corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions and due diligence)
- Ongoing legal research to identify potential risks, implications, requirements, etc.
Qualifications
- LLB degree, LLM, or MBA advantage
- Must be an admitted attorney/advocate: Registered with the Legal Practice Council
- VAST experience within the mining industry (minimum 8 years post qualification experience in commercial law/mining and/or litigation)
- Sound knowledge of South Africa's legal and regulatory landscape related to MINING, ENVIRONMENTAL and SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT legislation (MPRDA, NEMA, SLPs)
