Description

Our Client in the Hospitality Industry is seeking to employ a Kitchen Supervisor to their team based in Somerset East.

Assistance with accommodation for 2-3 months.

Requirements:
  • Recent (within the last 2–3 years) experience working in a professional kitchen environment—pub, grill, or restaurant preferred.
  • Driver's License and own vehicle.
  • Experience with stock counting, inventory management, and basic cost controls.
  • Experience using GAAP POS systems (required).
  • Strong communication skills; English, Afrikaans or Xhosa an advantage.
  • Ability to lead a small team and maintain composure during high-volume service.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and BOH best practices.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
  • Supervise kitchen staff during service; ensure all stations are prepared, stocked, and operating efficiently.
  • Maintain high food quality, presentation standards, and compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Oversee daily prep schedules, portion control, and recipe adherence.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Place, receive, and check orders from suppliers, monitor wastage and report variances.
  • Operate and manage GAAP POS systems for stock control, recipe updates, and kitchen reporting.
  • Assist with training new kitchen staff and maintaining a positive, professional work environment.
  • Support the Head Chef with menu updates, cost control, and kitchen planning.
