Job description
Purpose of the role

The Key Accounts Manager: creates and maintains relationships with potential and existing customers that result in the acquisition and growth of the Avis Budget Rent Lease share in the market and retention of customers. Focus on Van Rental / Local Sales/ Luxury collection products within the WC Operations region

Key deliverables and outputs
  • Operational Strategy, Processes and Procedures
    • Give input and advise on existing processes and procedures
    • Set and adhere to individual sales targets, in line with the business unit’s target/departmental forecasting.
  • Budgets, Forecasts and Revenue Management
    • Create annual forecasts in line with the KPI’s and business objectives/goals
    • Provide input into the annual budget created for the department
    • Achieve and grow rate per day and billed days as per target for car rental
    • Assist Credit Control Department in collection of overdue payments
    • Evaluate pricing to ensure that it meets the company’s profitability targets and present to the customers
    • Grow revenue in line with business targets (for Leasing, Rental, VAP’s)
    • Identify new business opportunities via different channels i.e. direct, Travel Management Company (TMC), website, cold calling tools, referrals, general media, Government Tender media.
  • Customer Management and Administration
    • Conduct timeous business reviews with all major customers, including Executives where relevant
    • Responsible for timeous Car Rental renegotiations prior to rate expiry
    • Manage the FML/OLMM fleet to ensure vehicle contracts are aligned with actual usage
    • Manage the existing client base in accordance with outputs identified in the Service Level Agreement (where applicable)
    • Responsible for onboarding, presenting and reporting to new customers
    • Update and inform all customers with regards to all products available and functional processes
    • Prepare and submit tenders and RFQ/RFP timeously
    • Identify and analyse lost accounts for acquisition
    • Manage the SalesForce effectively in line with the sales requirements
    • Collate all the necessary supporting documents for opening an account (credit facility) and submit to the finance department in line with processes and procedures
    • Load all Car Rental rates timeously via the Rates Automation system
    • Offer support and guidance to the fleet to make sure any replacements are actioned timeously
    • Review the financial status of existing customers on a bi-annual and annual basis to make sure they are in good standing, to make sure facility renewals are actioned timeously
    • Review the status of the fleet quarterly (financial status, cost outlay, in-depth visibility)
    • Track and meet monthly CSI targets
    • Collate information and create proposals in line with the business standards
    • Attend to any queries or issues and escalate when necessary
    • Monitor the satisfaction levels of clients through the CSI program to achieve the minimum business required level
    • Identify, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the customer base to ensure client satisfaction and future growth
  • Reporting
    • Prepare and submit monthly boards reports timeously
    • Prepare and submit weekly pipeline reports timeously
    • Generate and present monthly aged system reports from COGNOS (live reporting)
    • Collate data to assist the manager in preparing for the managerial reports for submission to EXCO
  • Internal and External Stakeholders
    • The role requires close engagement and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Academic Qualifications
    • Essential:
    • NQF Level 4 Qualification (Grade 12)
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Advantageous:
    • NQF Level 6 Qualification in Marketing/Communications or similar.
  • Work Experience
    • Essential:
    • 3 Years’ Experience within the Sales environment.
    • Advantageous:
    • 2 Years’ Experience in a Fleet environment
  • Note: This role may be required to travel from time to time. This role may be required to work overtime/after hours from time to time.
