Overview
Our Client, a prominent brand in the Auto Component Manufacturing Industry, and a tier 1 OEM supplier; is seeking to employ a Junior Sales Business Representative to their team based in Durban KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements
- Diploma/Certificate or equivalent qualification (NQF 5).
- Up to 3 years’ experience as a Sales Business Representative or in a similar role within a manufacturing or sales environment.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, SAP, ERP systems, Salesforce, or similar software).
- Strong knowledge of sales administration, stock control, compliance, customer service, and cost management.
Responsibilities
Sales & Business Administration
- Canvass and open new customer accounts based on viability.
- Monitor monthly sales per customer against targets and take corrective action.
- Extract and analyse sales data from ERP/SAP systems.
- Provide monthly sales and customer activity feedback to management.
- Introduce and implement promotional/marketing ideas aligned with strategy.
- Support route planning in collaboration with logistics and warehouse staff.
- Host trade evenings and promotional events to strengthen customer relations.
- Grow customer base and market share through promotions and relationship management.
- Assist with credit applications and manage debt collections in collaboration with finance.
- Monitor debtor accounts to ensure they remain within agreed terms.
- Maintain company equipment and vehicles in line with policy.
Stock Control
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure stock availability.
- Assist with consignment stock processes when required.
- Forecast monthly stock requirements based on customer buying patterns.
- Monitor stock rotations and replenishment.
- Support customers in managing stock levels effectively.
Compliance
- Operate within established controls and procedures.
- Report risks or areas of concern to management.
- Promote compliance with regulations to avoid wasteful or irregular expenditure.
Customer Service
- Build strong working relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Identify and resolve customer queries promptly and professionally.
- Deliver customer presentations/training on products, pricing, and procedures.
- Provide stands, POS material, and training to support customer operations.
- Keep customer information and database records up to date.
Cost Control
- Monitor pricing structures and gross profit daily.
- Implement action plans where profit deviations occur.
- Optimize use of company resources and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Report budget deviations to management.
