Job summary

Junior Accountant required in Stranger, Kwazulu Natal.

Our Client, a prominent Civils and Construction Concern based in North Coast, Stanger, KZN are hiring a Junior Accountant. Salary is most market related.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Processing of Journal into Sage Evolution and Buildsmart.
• Payroll journals, depreciation journals , raising assets acquired.
• Maintenance and updating of the Fixed Asset Register and Instalment Sale Register.
• Supplier account maintenance – following up on invoices not received, discounting accounts when required and assisting with supplier processing when required.
• Processing bank transactions directly from a bank statement daily and preparing a daily cash recon.
• Assist with the Audit process and gathering of supporting documentation.
• Assisting with the monthly preparation of monthly SARS submission ie. VAT, EMP and income taxation.
• Filing out of supplier application documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelors of Accounting degree/similar.
• Experience in the civils and construction industry is advantageous, Minimum of 2 years working experience.
• Good background and knowledge of accounting. Bring your experience so you can hit the ground running.
• To take instructions, work well in an office environment with Accounting personnel, have good communication skills and a willingness to learn the company’s internal processes.
• Have sound understanding of the fundamentals of accounting.
• Experience with Sage Evolution or Buildsmart.
• Must be organised, neat, tidy and punctual.
• Own transport essential.
