We are looking for a Jnr Process Engineer – Injection Moulding based at our Head office in Denver.

About the role

The successful candidate will report directly to the Production Manager.

This is a junior position designed as a developmental role for two years.

Responsibilities
  • The set‑up, and sustained robust performance of all injection moulding machines.
  • Responsible for the proper set up and operation of injection moulding machines for the production of precision moulded plastic parts.
  • Monitors the moulding process to ensure product quality.
  • Executes daily production tasks and supervises work in accordance with production schedule.
  • Creates set up procedures and process optimisation of new and existing plastic injection moulds.
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes with the aim of improving efficiency, reducing waste and lowering overall production costs.
  • Evaluate and standardise existing processes to enhance the performance of the equipment, people and enhance overall productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to lead, support and coach on problem solving using root cause analysis techniques.
  • Establish corrective and preventative countermeasures from problem solving.
  • Analyze processes and find areas of opportunity that reduce costs and increase production efficiency.
  • Support teams in the development of technical standards to ensure alignment with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Injection Moulding process improvement : Mold Process and process troubleshooting of various types of injection molds.
  • Mold set ups and tooling changeovers.
  • Mold maintenance and minor tool repair.
  • Directing and monitoring the execution of the production schedule as well as performing mold and or material changes as dictated by the schedule.
  • Performing process troubleshooting.
  • Part inspections and various other functions to ensure part conformity and quality.
  • Verifying paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at start of jobs and in process inspections.
  • Monitoring and preparing support equipment i.e. circulators, grinders, etc. as needed in the production area.
About you
  • National Senior Certificate / Matric / Grade 12 Certificate (Completed).
  • Candidates must have an Engineering Degree / Diploma or 2-3 Years experience working as a Process Engineer or extensive Injection Moulding process experience (10 years).
  • Excellent mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments and inspection of equipment to monitor quality.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and procedures based on ISO Standards.
  • Willing to learn Injection Moulding process from start to finish.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong Mathematical skills.
  • High achievement orientation.
  • Concern for order, quality, and accuracy.
  • Punctual.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Prepared to work shifts, occasionally.
