Our Client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable HR Generalist to join their team in Parow Industrial Cape Town.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labour laws.

You will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering workforce and fostering a positive work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in the engineering or technical sector.
  • Strong knowledge of South African labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees within the engineering department.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures while fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
  • Training and Development Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, particularly in engineering-related areas.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including contracts, personal information, and performance evaluations, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Assist in the administration of employee compensation and benefits programs, including payroll processing and benefits enrolment.
  • Collaborate with engineering management to identify workforce needs and develop strategies for talent acquisition and retention.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety within the workplace, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
