Overview

HIGH SCHOOL WATER POLO COACH (PART-TIME) – Dainfern College seeks to appoint a passionate and experienced Water Polo Coach to join our High School Sports Department and work on a part-time basis from 3 October 2025 or soonest thereafter.

Dainfern College is an independent English-medium, co-educational school situated on Broadacres Drive, Dainfern, north of Fourways in Johannesburg. The College caters for Grades 0-12 and offers IEB Matric as the Grade 12 exit exam. Our ethos is Christian and is based on the core concept of respect. This role offers the opportunity to develop young athletes, fostering both competitive excellence and a lifelong love for water polo.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct engaging water-polo training sessions for U14-Open players.
  • Coach and manage teams during fixtures, tournaments and festivals.
  • Develop players’ technical skills, tactical understanding and love for the game.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Swimming/Sports department to align with the College’s sporting vision.
  • Ensure a safe, positive and disciplined environment at all times.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in coaching competitive water polo (school or club level).
  • Relevant coaching qualification or accreditation (preferred).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work part-time hours, including mornings, afternoons and occasional weekends for matches.
  • Commitment to the values and ethos of Dainfern College.
  • Provision of a police clearance certificate and an NRSO clearance certificate.
