Job Description

A well‑reputed accounting firm managing finance functions across multiple clients and industries requires a half‑day Finance Manager (09:00–13:00) to provide senior‑level financial oversight. The successful candidate will be required to work from the office three days per week, with two days working remotely. This is a 3‑month contract role with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position.

This role is focused on review, oversight, and reporting. The Finance Manager will oversee work performed by internal accountants and external service providers, ensuring accuracy, consistency, strong financial control, and high‑quality management reporting across a diverse client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial oversight across all group entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial records
  • Review bookkeeping processed by internal accountants or outsourced providers
  • Ensure appropriate accounting standards and policies are applied consistently across entities
  • Identify errors, anomalies, and risks, and ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance
Management Accounts & Reporting
  • Prepare, review, and finalise monthly, quarterly, or annual management accounts as required per entity
  • Provide variance analysis, commentary, and insights for directors
  • Prepare cash flow reporting and oversight of liquidity across entities
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting where required
Systems & Process Management
  • Work across multiple accounting systems including QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage
  • Ensure data integrity across systems
  • Improve and document finance processes and workflows
  • Recommend efficiencies, automation, and best practices
Stakeholder & Advisor Management
  • Act as the senior finance contact for directors and business owners across a portfolio of independent client businesses

Requirements
