Vacancy

Emeris Durban North has a vacancy for a part‑time lecturer for the following module: Financial Accounting 1.

Key Performance Areas

• Preparation, conducting of lectures, tutorials and workshops;
• Providing study guidance, learning support, consultation and mentoring of students;
• Initiation and development of module materials, including online and web‑based materials;
• Marking and grading of student assessments;
• A range of administrative functions connected to the discipline and modules being taught;

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Ideal:

• Chartered Accountant OR
• Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) OR
• Honours/Post‑graduate qualification in Financial Accounting

Alternatively:

• Honours in one of the Financial Management (CIMA) related fields (e.g., Tax, Accounting,) with Financial Accounting to the third year level OR
• NQF level 9 qualification in Financial Accounting.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements

• Lecturing experience in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing or Taxation preferable.
• Completed training contract at a registered firm of Chartered Accountants.

Working Conditions

• Please note that this is an Independent Contractor role.
• Positions are part‑time, with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:00.
• Must reside in Durban (All classes take place on Campus).
• Applicants must be available to lecture for 2–3 days (business hours) within a week for the duration of the semester.
