Job description
Overview

Elim Housing's customers include families and single people living in our properties for rent, young people undertaking apprenticeships or training, clients within our support services and people buying houses that we have developed, among others. We have the same aim for all these relationships: to ensure that the housing and services Elim provide serve as a platform for growth, facilitating all our customers to achieve their aspirations.

Elim Housing has officially joined the Places for People (PfP) Group, strengthening its ability to deliver high-quality homes and specialist support services across Bristol, Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.

Please note: this role will be predominantly homebased with the occasional face to face team meeting in Bristol.

More About Your Role

As Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial information across the organisation. You'll lead the finance team, ensuring strong financial controls, high-quality reporting, and a consistent support service to colleagues and budget holders.

You'll prepare consolidated monthly management accounts, forecasts and commentary for senior leaders, as well as oversee year‑end processes, statutory reporting and engagement with external auditors. A core part of your role will be maintaining a robust financial control environment, safeguarding assets and ensuring the integrity of financial records.

You'll also provide regular training, insights and support to budget holders, helping them understand performance and variances. Alongside this, you'll oversee annual budgets, cashflow forecasts and contribute to wider organisational projects, always promoting collaboration and the value of the finance function.

More About You

To be eligible for an interview you must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Experience working at a similar level within a Housing Finance function
  • Line management experience within Finance

You'll bring strong experience in preparing monthly management accounts and budget variance reporting, along with the ability to analyse financial information and communicate insights clearly. You will be a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience), with excellent IT skills – particularly advanced Excel and confident use of accounting systems.

You're a supportive and effective leader, able to coach and develop a team, manage KPIs and deadlines, and build strong relationships across operational teams. Your communication skills allow you to explain financial matters in a clear, engaging way, and you take pride in delivering a high‑quality, value‑for‑money service.

Benefits
  • 25 days annual holiday
  • Paid day off for your birthday each year.
  • Access to training and career development through Elim Skills Academy.
  • Company pension.
  • Life Assurance.
  • Health cash plan, which includes discounts to a wide range of shops and services.
  • Paid one day volunteer leave.
  • Mileage expenses reimbursed.
