COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a South African pharmaceutical benefits management (PBM) organization and specialise in electronic claims processing and the management of medicine benefits. They are looking for a Finance Clerk to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for assisting with financial record-keeping, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily payments

  • Accurate data capturing of daily ad hoc orders and payments.
  • Follow up on outstanding approvals.

Bank

  • Perform all bank allocations daily.
  • Load payments on the bank for release.
  • Follow up on releases.

Pharmacy payments

  • Import pharmacy claims daily.
  • Assist with pharmacy claims reconciliations weekly.

Accounts payable

  • Monthly data capturing of creditors invoices.
  • Assist with creditors reconciliations monthly

Accounts receivable

  • Assist Financial Accountant with monthly data capturing for debtors’ invoices.
  • Follow up on outstanding debtors.

Ad hoc

  • Handle payment queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support during preparation and actual audits.
  • Administrative support to the finance department.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric with mathematics or accounting
  • Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping or another related field or studying towards the Diploma (advantageous)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 2–3 years of experience in financial administration, bookkeeping, or clerical accounting roles.
  • Accounting software experience and Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of finance.
  • Punctuality, Flexible & adaptability
  • Deadline driven & able to prioritise
