Overview

We’re looking for a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead 2-3 high-performing teams of software engineers in developing, maintaining and evolving our product suite. Youll provide clarity on the WHY and WHAT, enabling your team to deliver software that drives direct business and customer impact. This role blends technical leadership, people management and process excellence.

  • Location: Stellenbosch, South Africa
  • Department: Development Engineering
  • Reports to: Engineering Executive
  • Team Size: 10-20 engineers
What Youll Do
  • Lead and inspire: Motivate and mentor a total of 10-20 engineers to deliver high quality releases on time.
  • Drive delivery: Translate business priorities into clear goals, unblock challenges and keep the team aligned on outcomes.
  • Build processes: Implement and refine agile development practices, ensuring quality is baked into every release.
  • Support products: Provide technical guidance and triage product support issues with professionalism and speed.
  • Grow talent: Develop individuals through coaching, feedback and career planning, fostering a culture of ownership and learning.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Collaborate with Product Owners, System Architects and stakeholders to align roadmaps and manage dependencies.
What You Bring
  • Education: B.Eng / B.Sc. Computer Science (leadership/management qualifications a plus)
  • Experience: 12+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Skills:
    • Strong background in software development & release processes
    • Proven ability to manage teams, projects and budgets
    • Excellent communication, facilitation and conflict-resolution skills
    • Knowledge of telecoms, networks and internet technologies is a strong advantage
