Requirements
  • NQF Level 7, Labour Relations and Nyukela Certificate for entry into Senior Management Service (SMS) from the National School of Government. A higher qualification of NQF Level 8, will be an added advantage.
  • 5 years of experience at the middle / senior Managerial level in Employee Relations / Collective Bargaining and Management.
Duties
  • The Director of Labour Relations plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing labour relations activities within Office of the Premier.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage labour relations policies and strategies within GPG.
  • Manage and monitor collective bargaining structures and processes. Manage and oversee discipline and dispute cases in line with the legislative framework within GPG.
  • Represent the Employer in facilitating labour related judicial matters at labour court and other structures. Formulate and execute strategies to maintain positive labour relations. Lead and participate in negotiations with unions to establish fair and effective collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ensure that the GPG Departments adheres to labour laws, regulations, and internal policies. Handle conflicts and grievances between management and employees, fostering a harmonious work environment.
  • Offer support and advice to management on labour relations issues. Analyse labour trends and their potential impact in the GPG. Create and deliver training programs on labour relations. Track and improve employee satisfaction and engagement levels in the GPG. Manage the Directorate resources
