Key Performance Areas (Responsibilities)
  • Direct and oversee the facilitation and implementation of Human Settlement strategies and plans for the directorate.
  • Direct and control all processes related to the forward planning and identification of land for Housing / Integrated Human Settlements / Amenities, including the development of an integrated land delivery plan, per precinct for the directorate.
  • Direct and oversee the coordination and implementation of research and development activities of Human Settlement Policies, ensuring that Integrated Human Settlement policies are continuously reviewed, defined and implemented.
  • Direct and oversee the management, monitoring and controlling of all aspects related to the City's Integrated Housing Database system functions and responsibilities, ensuring that the City maintains a reliable and credible housing beneficiary database to allocate housing opportunities fairly, equitably and transparently to correct beneficiaries in line with allocation policy.
  • Manage and maintain business partnerships between various spheres of government and the ED's office, ensuring effective and meaningful partnership relationships exist with spheres of government to discuss / brainstorm strategic existing and future Human Settlement initiatives / developments, etc.
  • Plan, manage, coordinate, monitor and control all functions assigned to the City by proclamation regarding the administration and approval of housing subsidies to beneficiaries, including the management, controlling and monitoring of the Housing Subsidy System (HSS), including transfer of ownerships and application of the ownership regularisation function.
  • Oversee the provision of a strategic support and planning function to the Executive Director and all departments within the Directorate relating to Human Settlement developments.
