Role Overview
The Direct Sales Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving direct-to-consumer revenue by engaging high-quality web and digital enquiries and converting them into confirmed bookings. This role blends expert product knowledge, strong sales acumen, and high-touch client service to deliver seamless travel planning experiences and high-value bookings.
In addition to selling the company’ own properties, this role is also responsible for selling and packaging third-party partner properties under the the company Collective. Consultants must be confident in matching client needs to both in-house and Collective experiences, ensuring the highest standard of service and value.
This individual will work closely with Marketing, Operations, and Account Management teams to ensure alignment in messaging, effective pipeline management, and brand consistency throughout the client journey. Key Responsibilities
- Lead Conversion and Sales Delivery
- Convert qualified enquiries from the company’s website and digital channels into confirmed bookings
- Take ownership of the full sales cycle—including third-party suppliers and flights—with a zero-error execution standard using Tourplan
- Proactively upsell and cross-sell to maximise value through multi-camp itineraries, combining the company-owned and the company Collective properties
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, contributing to overall revenue growth and achieving an E2B conversion rate of 35–40%
- Client Engagement & Relationship Building
- Deliver exceptional service from first enquiry to post-travel follow-up, ensuring personalised, high-touch client care
- Cultivate repeat business and encourage word-of-mouth referrals through genuine relationship management
- Digital Channel Optimisation & Feedback Loop
- Collaborate with Marketing to refine lead quality and user journeys on the company’s website
- Provide insights on UX, enquiry behaviour, and content effectiveness to help improve conversion rates and digital engagement
- Brand Representation & Product Mastery
- Act as a knowledgeable and passionate advocate for the company’s properties, packages, and the the company Collective
- Ensure all communication with clients reflects the company’s foundational pillars and premium positioning
- Stay updated on all new experiences, rates, packages, and seasonal offers—including third-party product updates
- CRM & Pipeline Management (HubSpot)
- Diligently manage and log all leads, interactions, and sales activities in HubSpot
- Maintain a clean and accurate pipeline in line with company SOPs for tracking and performance review
- Internal Collaboration & Communication
- Liaise with Account Management and Product teams to ensure real-time information flow and product alignment
- Participate in regular sales team meetings and strategy sessions to enhance performance and market responsiveness
- Be online and available during agreed shift hours; participate in the emergency phone rotation schedule
- Continuous Learning & Industry Insight
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor offers, and client preferences to refine sales strategy
- Actively engage in ongoing training on the company products, Collective properties, destinations, and sales techniques
Success Profile
- Experience: 3–5 years in luxury travel sales or direct consumer booking environment
- Sales Focused: Proven ability to close high-value bookings and meet/exceed conversion goals
- Relationship Driven: Strong EQ, attentive listener, and service-first mindset
- Communication: Fluent in English (written and spoken); clear, confident communicator
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in HubSpot (or similar CRM), Tourplan, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Work Ethic: Organised, dependable, and able to perform under pressure in a remote environment
