Development Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a Development Engineer to support the design, prototyping, and improvement of mechanical and automotive components. The successful candidate will contribute to projects from concept through to production, while collaborating with engineering teams and providing technical guidance across functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical and automotive parts, including jigs and fixtures
  • Prepare engineering documentation such as drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and process instructions
  • Implement engineering change requests to improve products and processes
  • Drive continuous product development with a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
  • Offer technical support to colleagues and clients as required
  • Manage prototype development and associated projects, ensuring timelines and standards are met
Minimum Requirements
  • B-Tech or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Understanding of automotive vehicle construction
  • Strong technical communication skills
Desirable Experience
  • Exposure to Syspro or similar ERP software
  • Experience preparing BOMs and engineering documentation
  • Familiarity with composite, steel, and sheet metal components
  • Practical machining experience
  • Basic workshop hand skills
