Job summary

A chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Customer Desk Service Representative in East Rand, Gauteng. Customer Desk Service Representative

Type : 3 month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing the Customer Desk. You will ensure timely and efficient communication with customers and facilitate effective information flow between the Customer Desk and internal departments (e.g., Sales, Production, Demand Planning, Warehouse/Logistics, and Procurement). You will also focus on addressing customer complaints and ensuring their resolution.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Processing sales orders and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Closing job cards
• Ensuring compliance with Management System and ERP system processes
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including Power User functions in Order to Cash (customer service, costs, efficiency, team capability, processes, data, systems)
• Logging customer complaints and recording them in OTIF reports
• Maintaining and updating MSDS, TDS, and credit application records

What You’ll Need

• Commercial qualification or higher degree
• At least 5 years of experience in sales, customer service, or supply chain, preferably in the chemical industry
• ERP system knowledge
• Proficiency with Office tools
• Production planning experience
• Demonstrated Quality Skills Level 2
