Job summary

A renewable energy company is seeking a community liaison officer in Cape Town to support the project team and ensure professional relationships with local stakeholders. Responsibilities include monitoring recruitment policies, assisting sub-contractors, and addressing grievances. The ideal candidate must have a Grade 12 qualification, community liaison experience, and reside in the Swellendum area. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to local community development through project involvement.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Residency in Swellendum area with a letter from the local councilor is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Support the Goldwind Construction Project Team and the Community Consultant.

  • Ensure a professional relationship between the stakeholders, community leaders and businesses of the area.

  • Monitor the adherence to labour recruitment, procurement, and grievance policies for the Project.

  • Attend all off-site project meetings as an observer.

  • Recruit labour for the sub-contractors through the approved community jobseeker recruitment methodology.

  • Assist local SMME proposal responses for the sub-contractors.

  • Investigate grievances, give feedback and forward to line management to close-off.


Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 as a minimum educational qualification.

  • Must be experienced in community liaison.

  • Computer Literacy Skills.

  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to liaise with the local communities.

  • Candidates must reside in Swellendum area and present a letter from the local councilor to be considered for the role.
