Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the Fintech space. As Commercial Manager you will lead the company’s commercial strategy and financial operations. This role combines pricing, modelling, revenue enablement, cash flow management, and systems optimization to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

You will ensure financial and commercial decisions align with growth goals while maintaining strong governance and modernizing finance processes.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Pricing & Modeling
  • Review, assess, and approve pricing using standardized models.
  • Develop bespoke models for RFPs, new products, or business cases.
  • Develop pricing templates, calculators and key pricing parameters.
  • Maintain robust pricing templates and ensure models support sound decision-making.
  • Present pricing proposals and commercial terms to stakeholders.
  • Ensure models incorporate relevant assumptions, data inputs, and market / economic conditions.
Stakeholder Planning & Advisory
  • Evaluate and validate commercial intent behind pricing / modelling requests.
  • Provide expert commercial guidance to leadership and support business case development.
  • Support development of business cases and scenario modelling for new opportunities.
Template & Data Input Management
  • Maintain and evolve pricing templates aligned to financial goals.
  • Identify and address gaps in data input processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Guide and oversee the creation of new pricing or modelling tools as needed.
Reporting & Analytics
  • Maintain dashboards and commercial performance reports.
  • Generate reports on variance, profitability and opportunity conversion.
  • Analyze trends and recommend improvements or corrective actions.
Internal Engagement & Business Partnering
  • Assist in commercial rebuttals and negotiations through clearly defined models.
  • Offer strategic commercial insights to support product growth and long-term pricing sustainability.
Commercial Presentations & Customer / Supplier Engagement
  • Lead compelling commercial presentations to customers, clearly communicating value, pricing rationale, and terms.
  • Ensure customer proposals and negotiations align with broader strategic growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customers to drive long-term value and revenue growth.
  • Engage with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, terms, and service levels.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance
  • CA(SA)
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in commercial finance, pricing strategy, and operational finance.
  • Strong experience in cloud / ERP financial systems and FinOps practices.
  • Track record of managing teams through transformation, optimization, and growth cycles.
  • Experience in B2B, fintech, digital services, or technology-led environments is advantageous.
