• Experience working in Southern Africa, specifically South Africa.

Tasks – Data and Monitoring Specialist

🌍Must be based in South Africa: Mostly remote

📍 This is not a full-time opportunity and aimed at consultants. (85 days input (mostly remote) over 40 weeks starting 1st March)

• Designing and development of climate change adaptation indicators
• Implementation of the monitoring system
• Data collection, analysis and harmonisation for climate change indicators
• Data integration and decision making in the context of climate adaptation

Qualifications of key expert 2

• Post-graduate degree in Climate Change, Environmental Policy, Environmental Sciences/Management, Environmental Economics, Sustainable Development
• C2-level language proficiency in English
• 7 years of experience in designing and developing as well as managing data, monitoring and evaluation systems for climate change adaptation projects.
• 5 years of experience in developing climate change adaptation indicators and systems for progress monitoring
• 5 years of experience in projects in Southern Africa (region), of which 3 years in projects in South Africa (country)
• 2 years’ experience in data integration and decision-making in the context of climate adaptation
