The Role: Certified Payroll Administrator
This role is central to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of payroll operations for field employees working on public and private infrastructure projects. You'll handle certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage compliance, and regulatory submissions. Working remotely from South Africa, you'll play a vital role in maintaining payroll integrity, supporting audits, and enabling the business to meet its operational obligations on time, every time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, with a strong focus on certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance
  • Compile and reconcile payroll data for field employees with precision and accuracy
  • Process and submit certified payroll and prevailing wage reports to meet state and federal deadlines
  • Maintain detailed and accurate payroll records and ensure full audit readiness
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
  • Address certified payroll and labour compliance queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and management to resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Support audits by preparing and submitting required documentation promptly
  • Contribute to additional payroll tasks and compliance projects as required
About You
  • At least 5 years of payroll experience, specifically in certified payroll and prevailing wage projects
  • Experience with US-based companies, ideally in the construction or utilities sectors
  • Familiar with union payroll processes (desirable)
  • Proficient in payroll software, labour compliance platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; organized and methodical
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear, professional tone
  • Able to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working PST business hours from South Africa
  • Clear English with no accent preferred for professional client communication
