Job Title: Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor - Paarl

Location: Western Cape, Paarl | Deadline: September 25, 2025

Purpose of the Role

To promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM)’s products and increase market share through:

  1. Providing sound financial advice and a high level of client service in a branch setting.
  2. Creating opportunities for client optimization and cross-selling of value-added services.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Delivery
  1. Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of SRM product ranges.
  2. Understand customer needs, financial goals, and means, providing the most suitable and affordable products.
  3. Update and inform customers about new or changed products, managing their portfolios accordingly.
  4. Validate client details per product and regulatory requirements, and submit new business through appropriate channels.
  5. Conduct due diligence to identify and flag risks.
  6. Manage capacity to prioritize appointments and handle walk-in clients.
In-Branch Client Service and Retention
  1. Service and manage all client profiles to retain clients.
  2. Send reminders, follow-up, and support clients as needed.
  3. Manage and report on NTUs, implementing controls and corrective actions.
  4. Maintain client payment persistency for branch and clients.
  5. Assess client risk profiles to identify support needs.
  6. Consult on alternative payment arrangements and ensure proper processing.
  7. Handle policy cancellations and provide alternatives.
  8. Resolve client queries or escalate appropriately, providing ongoing feedback.
Quality, Compliance, and Development
  1. Adhere to compliance and quality standards.
  2. Maintain registration, product knowledge, and CPD points.
  3. Identify risks and flag potential fraud.
  4. Keep records of advice and activities for compliance.
  5. Provide data for reporting and decision-making.
Monthly Planning and Reporting
  1. Report activities daily using relevant platforms.
  2. Compile data for weekly and monthly reports.
  3. Perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Retail Branch Manager.

Qualifications

  1. Matric (Grade 12)
  2. RE5 advantageous
  3. FAIS Compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements
  4. Class of Business training (to be completed within 12 months of employment)
  5. Experience in Sales, Retail, or Business Development roles
