A logistics company in Gauteng is looking for a Senior Bond Warehouse Supervisor to manage inventory and oversee compliance with customs regulations. Key responsibilities include managing receipts, storage, and picking of stock, ensuring adherence to SARS rules, and leading a team. Candidates should have 3–5 years' experience in a Bond Warehouse environment along with relevant qualifications in logistics management. This role demands strong organizational, analytical, and compliance skills.
The Senior Bond Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing bonded warehouse inventory, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, picking, and customs clearance of stock in line with SARS rules and regulations. The role ensures compliance, governance, operational efficiency, and effective people management within the bond warehouse environment.
Verify received stock against packing lists and loads.
Prepare and submit batch clearing instructions for customs clearance.
Validate cleared customs documents against batch documentation.
Ensure compliance with all SARS rules and bonded warehouse regulations.
Maintain and manage bond inventory registers with clearing and forwarding agents.
Conduct monthly reconciliation of physical stock vs bond registers, including VAT and duty exposure.
Ensure timeous and planned put-away of inbound stock.
Balance stock put-away activities with ongoing sales order picking.
Conduct post put-away cycle counts (10% sample).
Ensure all stock locations and cartons are clearly labelled.
Implement and monitor housekeeping standards within the bond warehouse.
Conduct random audits on sealed and SRA-controlled stock.
Minimise and prevent stock losses.
Ensure adequate resources are available for picking operations.
Release sales orders and allocate picking tasks to operators.
Monitor picking progress via ERP (MS D365).
Manage batching, consolidation, and cut-off adherence.
Ensure BOE and MRN details are updated on sales orders.
Generate delivery notes and manage outbound staging.
Resolve stock shortages in collaboration with Inventory and Planning teams.
Monitor picker performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Validate clearing agent invoices against customs clearance documentation (XDP).
Allocate work, manage deadlines, and monitor output.
Schedule staff, approve leave, and conduct performance appraisals.
Handle first-level disciplinary matters.
Train and develop team members through on-the-job and refresher training.
Monitor labour productivity and efficiency.
Analyse SKU trends and ABC classifications.
Implement replenishment models (min/max) for fast-moving products.
Maintain system integration with freight forwarders and internal stakeholders.
Develop, review, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Apply Barron 6S housekeeping principles.
Ensure compliance with health and safety policies at all times.
