Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency resuscitation and required urgent medical stabilisation of critical patients.
  • Assess patients' fitness to undertake an operation before the surgery takes place.
  • Initiate anaesthesia, providing safe pre-operative, during and post-operative care.
  • Work in a team of other health professionals to ensure patient wellbeing.
  • Perform administrative tasks in patient care.
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings both on and off-site.
  • Participate in an agreed on-call rota.

  • work in a team of other health professionals to ensure patient wellbeing.

  • perform administrative tasks in areas which relate to the care of patients, including summaries of patient treatment and the writing of discharge letters

  • attend multidisciplinary team meetings both on and off-site

  • participate in an agreed on-call rota and take on an equal share in providing emergency cover


Requirements


  • Medical Doctor with Diploma in Anaesthesia or Anaesthetisiology specialisation.

  • Valid Registration with HPCSA

  • Over 6 months of Anastehtsia experience in a busy hospital.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Team-player

  • Flexible to work in insecure context.
