Accounts Assistant | Luxury Lodge & Hotel Group | Bryanston, Johannesburg

Salary : R18,000 CTC (Negotiable DOE)

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a detail-orientated and motivated Accounts Assistant to join the finance team of a luxury lodge and hotel group based in Bryanston, Johannesburg. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a premium hospitality environment known for its world-class service and exceptional guest experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in hospitality finance and a strong grasp of accounting processes. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the business’s financial integrity and day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records
  • Record and categorise financial transactions (income, expenses, assets, liabilities)
  • Reconcile accounts and support preparation of audits and financial reports
  • Assist in generating balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow summaries
  • Support budget compilation and track performance against forecasts
  • Assist with payroll preparation, journals, and third-party payments
  • Monitor and report financial risks, discrepancies, and compliance issues
  • Process supplier invoices and resolve related queries
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, petty cash, and daily reconciliations
  • Verify F&B receiving against POs and receipts
  • Support debtor processing and collections
  • Assist with stocktaking and process accurate stock figures
  • Liaise with various departments to communicate financial information clearly
Minimum Requirements
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
  • Matric (minimum); a relevant tertiary qualification is an advantage
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced)
  • Experience with ACCPAC / SAGE300 and VIP Payroll
  • Familiarity with hospitality PMS systems (OPERA advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Valid RSA ID and access to reliable transport
