Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of metal machining processes and at least 5 years of supervisory experience. Responsibilities include managing manpower and optimizing production scheduling, while ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role is essential for enhancing productivity and efficiency within the team.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of metal machining processes (turning and milling).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Analyse orders to optimize production scheduling.
- Manage manpower allocation and shift arrangements.

- Analyse orders to optimize production scheduling and prioritization.
- Plan and coordinate work based on machine capacity and capabilities.
- Manage manpower allocation, overtime planning, and shift arrangements.
- Coach machinists and arrange necessary training to upgrade skills.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues.
- Actively participate in HSE activities and ensure compliance with SOPs.
- Strong knowledge of metal machining processes (turning and milling).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T (a key skill for this role).
- Experience in tooling design/selection, part set-up, and work-holding.
- Proficient in using common measuring instruments.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Preferably holds NTC2 or Diploma in an Engineering discipline.
