Senior System Design Engineer (Ref.No. R1007962)

The Singapore Engineering team focuses on enhancing commuter experience through initiatives like reducing energy consumption, minimizing service disruptions, and enabling faster travel times via our driverless Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) systems. The team also leads the development of cloud-based data analytics solutions for railway operations worldwide.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading technical delivery on CBTC projects, ensuring engineering standards and customer expectations are met
• Managing project deliverables to ensure timely completion
• Serving as the primary technical contact for internal teams and external stakeholders
• Supporting the development and review of system and subsystem design artifacts to meet operational and safety requirements
• Evaluating designs for compliance with technical specifications
• Participating in system performance monitoring and root cause analysis using cloud-based data analysis tools
• Presenting trade-off analyses, designs, and investigations clearly to engineering and management teams
• Engaging in technical discussions with customers, contractors, and internal departments
• Supporting bids and projects across Singapore and the region, including Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Australia
• Utilizing our CBTC simulation facilities for hands-on testing and issue resolution
• Contributing to advanced projects like Next Gen Green CBTC and Data Analytics

Qualifications:

• BSc in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design Engineering, or related field
• Curious and quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills for global stakeholder engagement
• Willing to collaborate across time zones, including occasional evening calls
• Experience in deploying CBTC technology

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Ruby
• Familiarity with relevant technologies used in CBTC systems
