Job summary
A leading ship management company in Singapore is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee their fleet of dry bulk vessels. The candidate should have at least 3 years of managerial experience in the maritime industry, possess strong leadership and communication skills, and have a robust understanding of vessel operations and maintenance. Key responsibilities include managing a team, ensuring compliance with regulations, budget management, and fostering client relationships. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to operational excellence within a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of managerial experience as Fleet Manager in the maritime industry.
- Strong understanding of dry bulk vessel operations, maintenance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in fleet management.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Vessel Managers and oversee their technical management.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and meet their needs efficiently.
- Provide accurate reports on vessel performance and operational effectiveness.
- Manage the budget for the fleet ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of technical and operational staff.

Education
We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Fleet Manager for an established Ship Management Company to manage the company's fleet of 3rd party vessels. The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of managerial experience as Fleet Manager from the maritime industry. He/she would possess strong leadership and organizational skills and is able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a team of Vessel Managers and be responsible for their technical management of the vessels, ensuring safe operations, regulatory compliance, crew management, maintenance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a primary point of contact and ensuring their needs and expectations are met efficiently and effectively.
- Overall accountable to provide accurate and timely reports on the vessel performance and overall operational effectiveness of the clients vessels.
- Oversee and manage the budget for the fleet, ensuring efficient allocation of resources while maintaining high operational standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with maritime regulations, safety protocols, and industry standards, keeping the fleet in adherence with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a team of technical and operational staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Technical/maritime qualifications with seagoing experience as Chief Engineer with relevant shore-based experience.
- Strong understanding of dry bulk vessel operations, maintenance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in fleet management, preferably within the dry bulk sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Self-driven and having good interpersonal and time management skills.
