SimplifyVMS is a leading global SaaS provider of contingent workforce VMS solutions and one of the fastest-growing extended workforce technology providers worldwide. Recognized by industry analysts, SimplifyVMS is a sophisticated multi-tenant SaaS HR Tech product built on a complex microservices architecture. Experience with advanced SaaS platforms or microservices products, and working with global teams, is highly desirable. The role involves owning workstreams within the platform and delivering outstanding outcomes. Our clients include large enterprise Fortune 500/Global 2000 companies, requiring complex engineering solutions.

We seek a seasoned Director of Engineering with strong technical leadership, deep expertise in PHP/Laravel, and a successful track record in SaaS platform delivery. This role involves overseeing product engineering, leading a team of developers, collaborating with Product and Customer Success teams, and driving innovation and scalability within the SimplifyVMS platform.

• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team.
• Develop and implement engineering best practices, processes, and culture.
• Collaborate with Product Management on the product roadmap and delivery.
• Drive technology strategy and make architecture decisions for scalability, reliability, and security.

• Provide technical guidance in building scalable SaaS applications using PHP/Laravel.
• Oversee code quality, architecture, and design decisions.
• Lead system modernization efforts, including migration to microservices or serverless frameworks.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the platform.

• Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and incident management.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and agile development practices.

• Work closely with stakeholders across various teams.
• Align engineering efforts with business goals and customer needs.

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Expertise in PHP 8+, Laravel 8/9, MySQL/PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and frontend frameworks (Vue.js or React).
• Proven experience leading SaaS product development at scale.
• Strong cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of software design patterns, system architecture, and scalable systems.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and WebSocket real-time applications.
• Background in workforce management, VMS, HR tech, or procurement solutions.
• Familiarity with compliance and security standards (SOC2, GDPR).
