Job summary
A governmental security agency in Singapore is seeking an experienced analyst to conduct research on defence capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. Candidates should have at least 6 years of research experience, with strong writing and critical thinking skills. This role involves producing high-quality reports and presenting findings to military leaders. Knowledge in International Relations or related fields, along with an interest in current technological advancements, is highly valued. The position offers the chance to contribute to national security strategies.
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in research and analysis preferred.
- Defence capability research background is advantageous.
- Interest and knowledge on current technology developments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on regional defence capabilities.
- Monitor and analyze defence procurement strategies.
- Produce high-quality, original research reports.
Skills
Education
You provide accurate and timely analysis reports on defence capabilities and related developments in identified countries-of-interest in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Conduct research on regional defence capabilities
- Monitor, analyse and identify trends in their defence procurement strategy, defence collaborations and technology development
- Produce high-quality, original research reports
- Present research findings to military leaders and relevant stakeholders
- Keeping pace with the rapid changes in the defence and security landscape affecting the countries-of-interest, influencing their defence capability development and collaboration strategies
- Staying ahead of the curve and identify new trends and developments
- Synthesising large amounts of information
- Communicating complex issues to non-specialists
- Working under tight deadlines to deliver high-quality research products
- Education in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies or a related field
- At least 6 years of experience in research and analysis is preferred
- Defence capability research background is advantageous
- Strong English language command
- Excellent writing abilities
- Critical thinking skills
- Comfortable to work independently or part of a team of analysts
- Interest and knowledge on current technology developments and their implications to defence capability
